How to Reduce High Creatinine Levels?
Creatinine is the waste product, which is found in every living thing. These are produced when your body does a physical movement. Creatinine clearance shows us how our kidneys are functioning. Normally kidneys filter and flush this substance out of the body, through urine. If you are infected by some disease then this process can be hindered, making this wastage to get accumulated within the body. This can cause uremia, a life threatening disease. There are many ways you can reduce it from getting accumulated, alter your diet plans, your lifestyle can forgo a change or you can also take medical help.
Your body needs to purify your blood to work normally. Better consult your doctor to do what is required or there are these home remedies we are going to discuss with you.
What is Creatinine?
Creatinine gets created when the kidneys filter the nutrients from the food we eat. They supply all the nutrients to all the body to do work efficiently. The waste products that remain are all creatinine. Usually we eat food to create energy to do some physical movements, kidneys filter creatinine from your blood and flushed out through urine. If its level rises, it means that kidneys are not functioning properly. Creatinine gets accumulated and you have to take high protein to eradicate it or do some arduous exercise.
Why Creatinine Level Goes Up?
Many reasons are there that increase the level of creatinine, with some are severe, others are normal, but all it need to heal your kidneys and make them work normal again.
If your kidneys are damaged or infected, they will not be able to filter glomerular properly. Outflow of filtered fluids passing through your kidney is called Glomerular filtration.
If you have a severe disease that breaks down your muscles, your torn muscles get mixed in the blood and create trouble with your kidneys.
If you eat lots of meat or eat a diet cooked in the meat can spike the amount of creatinine in your body. Having a disturbance in the thyroid gland can affect the kidney functions. These will not be able to filter properly.
How can we Reduce Creatinine?
1. Don’t Eat Supplements Containing Creatine
Creatine is produced naturally in your liver. It is then sent down to the muscles, who use them to gain energy. The creatine that is left unused create ctreainine, a waste commodity. Creatine is also attained as an oral component, in spite of it being a natural product. Many athletes use it to enhance their athletic performances. Just like the natural creatine, when all substances get collected they produce creatinine. Anyone who wishes to reduce creatinine should not take creatine supplements for their own safety.
2. Increase your Fiber Eating
More research is required on to know the effects of dietary fiber on creatinine level. But one study told us that people who were infected with chronic kidney disease, who enhanced their fiber intake showed reduction in creatinine levels. Fiber can be obtained from many food items like
- Legumes
- vegetables,
- Fruits
- whole grains
3. Muscle Activity
Any activity by the muscles produce creatinine, the more they work, producing more creatinine in the blood. A study got conducted that arduous exercise increased the level of creatinine temporarily and not stayed permanently. Arduous exercise should be avoided until you have completely taken medical help to treat creatinine level. Just consider it a forewarning, people should avoid exercising, except if they are in extreme circumstances.
If people are already addicted to doing some physical activity like weight training or resistance exercises, they should change to body weight exercises and yoga. People who are habitual to running and cycling should switch to walking and swimming.
4. Drink Herbal Tea or Green Tea
There are certain tea flavors that reduce the level of creatinine in your blood. For achieving this you need to drink at least 3, 250ml glasses of herbal tea every day. The tea that is successful in doing that is nettle leaf, dandelion root and chamomile tea. These encourage the kidneys to function properly and enhance the urine quantity. Now more creatinine is passed out along with urine.
5. Check your Liquid Intake
It is a well-known fact that a person should drink at least 8 glasses of 250ml of water each day. Dehydration in fact increases the level of creatinine, so stay hydrated to avoid its rise. When there is a deficiency of fluids in your body, means you will not produce much urine and creatinine is flushed out with urine. If don’t do much urine, it gets a chance to accumulate and create toxins. Don’t consume in excess, it will just increase your blood pressure, putting more stress on your kidneys. Just stay hydrated, neither drink too low amount nor drink in excess.
6. Sleep Nicely
The moment you fall asleep, most of the organs of the body take rest, including the body’s metabolism. The process of creating creatine to creatinine also becomes slow and more of creatinine is filtered out before any new toxins build up.
Sleep for 7 to 9 hours every day, 7 to 8 is also ideal. If you have not slept for a day, then all organs have to work hard to do simple tasks. Kidneys gets damaged and creatinine is going to raise its level.
7. Massage Therapy
Massage therapy can be done to increase the free flow of blood circulation and reduce the stress on the kidneys that start functioning normal. You are able to relax and sleep well. But the massage should be done by a professional massager and not by an amateur one.
You can also try doing yoga at home. It helps in increasing the discipline and makes you go passionate. It also reduces the stress level. You become habitual and know what to do if such a situation arrives.
All these remedies help in reducing the creatinine and not creating any trouble. If you still have a doubt, or are not satisfied with the results, better pay a visit to your doctor. He/she can guide you more properly.
