How to Relieve Bloating from Ulcerative Colitis?
Bloating, gas and constipation are the symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis (UC). When you feel you have it, nobody wants to discuss the symptoms with anyone, in shyness or embarrassment. According to a research it is better to share with your near & dears. It will be better if you have a conversation with your doctor and he/she can advise you the proper way. Constipation, if ignored can lead you to further troubles. UC is related to the bowel movements. It causes inflammatory bowel disease that raises inflammation along your intestinal canal that goes from mouth to anus. When this inflammation occurs, constipation is inevitable.
Such a UC is called proctitis, causing obstruction in bowel moves, making stool moving difficult. Constipation just allows 2 or 3 stools a week, which are very stone type, thus accumulates the wastage, reducing intestinal gas and pain in the stomach, worse in function or condition the whole situation. You can get these symptoms too like a pain in the chest, fatigue and lethargy, fever, vomiting blood, rapid pulse and severe pain in the abdomen. 1. Exercise
Do the regular exercise at least for half an hour early in the morning daily. It shouldn’t be intense jogging, cycling, swimming and a walk for at least 20 minutes is enough. You can take rest when you feel tired for about 5 minutes in between. Lie on the left side, it will improve digestion. A recent study has found that intense exercise can be done, but taking rest between the 2 sessions is mandatory. Exercise help the digestion improve and makes the blood flow is also easier.
2. Warm Lemon Water
Lemon is a natural diuretics, which shows laxative features, when you mix it in warm water. It helps lower down the level of salt in the body and helps reduce bloating. Get 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and a glass of warm water. Mix them and stir well and drink it daily, especially in the morning. If you don’t gel with the taste, add some honey to this glass, according to your taste. It’s not necessary but an option. Better be regular as this can make the bloating to become reduce. Enhance taking the fluids, but the safe ones like soups, juices, energy drinks.
3. Ginger
Ginger is a valuable herb which helps in dozens of diseases. Ginger has carminative features, which help in debarring the gas and eases the digestion and cramps. Ginger can remove the gas and if taken regularly doesn’t allow it come back and fill your abdomen again. Get an inch of ginger and a cup of plain water. Honey is optional, to change the flavor of your drink. Get a saucepan, soak the ginger in water and boil it. Let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Take it off the flames and let it cool down to a warm condition. Strain and drink it daily for 2 to 3 times.
4. Baking Soda
Baking soda is an antacid agent that eradicates indigestion. It has an alkaline nature that thwarts the hydrochloric acid of your stomach. Thus it leaks out the gas, reducing the bloating from the stomach. Get 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a glass of warm water. Just add this powder of baking soda in the glass and drink it immediately. Once a day is more than enough.
5. Fennel Seeds
Scientifically, fennel seeds are known as Foeniculum vulgare, which are quite famous for their digestive powers. These have the ingredients known as anethole, estragole and fenchone, exhibiting features that can throw out the foreign particles. It proves to be an agent that eliminates the gas from the stomach, taking care of the abdominal bloating. 1/2 to 1 cup of grinded fennel seeds and a cup of water. Boil the water with the seeds in it. Let it lie for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and can add honey to this tea for flavor. Sip this hot cup of tea daily or you can chew half the teaspoon of fennel seeds in raw. Do it 2 to 3 times a day.
6. Pumpkin
Pumpkin is quite helpful in making the gas vaporize, as it has potassium and fiber as its ingredients, squeezing your tummy. Sodium is chiefly responsible for collecting gas in your abdomen and potassium is the arch rival of sodium. The destruction of sodium is inevitable, and the gas also peters out. Get 1 cup of cut pumpkin and 2 glasses of water. Boil the water with pumpkin in it. After all the water steams out, eat this cooked pumpkin to gain the benefits. You can also add pumpkin with your daily meals. Daily eating can remove the bloating from your stomach in a quick manner.
7. Bananas
Eat raw bananas, they taste sweet and are easy to eat that can be digested very easily. Bananas have abundance of fiber and a high quality of potassium in them. Thus making them a high quality food that eradicates sodium, as we know potassium does that, keeps bloating in stomach area under control. Doesn’t let the bloating expand. Get 1 or 2 bananas and eat them raw after peeling off the cover. Daily eat at least 1 or 2 bananas, to avoid bloating in a natural way.
8. Apple Cider Vinegar
It is the remedy for numerous number of diseases. No matter what the problem is, it boosts the digestive system which begins to work in a normal manner. Vinegar has so many enzymes and digestive features that make the gas leak out and thus removes bloating from your belly. Get 1 spoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it in a glass of warm water. You can also add honey to sweeten your drink. Drink this acidic drink and better be regular to avoid future troubles, at least 1 a day is enough.
These are the natural ways to control your bloating and constipation. One of them will definitely work for you. Your belly is going to reduce making you look smart, at least physically. Your personality is going to get a boost if you keep these home remedies in your kitchen and enjoy the life.
