Diagnosis of Piles
If you have external hemorrhoids, your doctor will diagnose piles easily simply by seeing. But the diagnosis of internal hemorrhoids is difficult. Your doctor has to perform some tests and procedures to diagnose internal piles.
Digital examination
In the digital examination, your doctor inserts a gloved, lubricated finger into your rectum. If the doctor feels anything unusual, like any lump or growth then the doctor will decide to do further testing.
Visual inspection
Internal hemorrhoids are usually too smooth and difficult to feel during a digital examination, so your doctor examines the lower part of the colon and rectum with a proctoscope, sigmoidoscopy or anoscope.
