NATURAL CURE FOR CHRONIC RHINITIS
Hacchuuu……It feels like my lungs will explode or my internal organs will come out….I am done sneezing!!! These are the things that run through our heads when we have a cold or start sneezing. Can’t talk, can’t drink anything, can’t have food, and can’t even sit peacefully at a place. Having a cold or sneezing gives a feeling of the world revolving at a different pace, it just interrupts every single activity of our day. One such worse condition is chronic rhinitis.
WHAT IS CHRONIC RHINITIS
Often sneezing is not considered a serious issue but sometimes it does become a reason for worry. When the inner lining of the nose becomes inflamed, it is called Rhinitis. When this inflammation becomes worse and lasts for more than four weeks it becomes chronic and may lead to the condition called Chronic rhinitis. In most cases, chronic rhinitis can be caused due to allergy and is termed hay fever. It is accompanied by allergic responses like itchiness, redness in eyes, watery eyes, and mainly sneezing.
According to Ayurveda, all diseases are caused due to imbalance of doshas, dhatus, and malas. According to them, the main cause of allergic rhinitis is accumulated toxins and is considered the same as that of data kaphaja pratishaya. It can occur as a result of improper digestion leading to ama and as result, the rasas are not formed properly and may lead to improper nourishment and increased Kapha dosha in the body.
LET’S KNOW THE CAUSES OF CHRONIC RHINITIS
Chronic rhinitis can be allergic and non-allergic and therefore both types have different causes. If the rhinitis persists for long then medical assistance is required, so now let’s know some causes so that we can be careful about it. Causes of allergic rhinitis can be due to allergies from certain things like pollen, mold, dust mites, ragweed, pet dander, etc. Symptoms of rhinitis are identified when an allergic reaction takes place in the body by binding allergens to immunoglobulin E and as a result, histamine is released which carries out a defense mechanism in the body. In this condition, the immune system is involved.
In the case of non-allergic rhinitis, the immune system is not involved. It usually occurs when there is dilation of blood vessels inside the nasal cavity. The dilation may occur due to irritants like smog, smoke, perfumes, strong odor, change in weather, etc. It can also be caused due to infection in the upper respiratory tract, due to certain medications, stress, asthma, etc.
SOME COMMON TIPS TO PREVENT CHRONIC RHINITIS
The most important way to prevent it will be to prevent exposure to the causative factors themselves. Rhinitis is a condition caused due to stimulation of the immune system, in some cases caused due to stimulants stimulating the other vital parts of the nasal area. Taking preventive measures in certain months when the chances of allergens in the atmosphere is high can be the best way of prevention. Some practice to prevent rhinitis is by not touching or rubbing the nose, washing hands frequently to wash away allergens sticking in hands, washing the bedspreads and pillowcases weekly to reduce allergens, by using dust mite proof coverings, if the patient have an allergy from pets then don’t let them on beds as their fur can cause allergy and using a mask and sunglasses, in polluted areas or seasons when there is high pollen or mold.
