Ergophobia And Its Ayurvedic Management
Abstract
Mental health is important to live a healthy life. A person with mental well being can make his/her life easier and cheerful with good decisions and a positive thought process. But these days due to urbanisation and unnatural lifestyle mental stress and associated problems are the cause of concern. The stress and hectic lifestyle is so prevalent that every person directly or indirectly is suffering from unwanted stress. In this article we are going to discuss a special type of anxiety named Ergophobia and its ayurvedic management.
Introduction
The abnormal and continuous fear of work or getting employment is called Ergophobia. It can be a reflection of social phobia or anxiety due to poor performance. The person with ergophobia experiences anxiety which is related to the workplace. The anxiety is generally irrational. Such anxiety may be due to failing at completion of tasks, isolation at the workplace, emotional factors, psychological trauma at workplace. The person suffering from Ergophobia is usually unable to express what is there in his/her mind and it is a daunting feeling always to perform or even do work at their workplace. The persons in which vata is vitiated usually feel disconnected from earth, feeling high in the sky. So to pacify such conditions it is important to deal with vata and focus on vata stabilization to calm the nervous system, mind relaxation, connect the body to earth and go with the flow of the universe.
Mansik Dosha Aspect
Another aspect is the aggravated MANAS DOSHA in the body. Two mansik dosha are there rajas and tamas. The vitiated tamas dosha impair the mental status of the person and the person may feel disorders or symptoms of poor mental health. The cause behind the vitiation of manas dosha is tamsik aahar vihar( non-veg food, excessive junk food, stale food, drinking alcohol, not respecting the elders, saints, gurus, bad company, sleeping late mornings and waking up at night). The factors which may aggravate the problems are–
kaam(lust), anger, greed, delusion, jealousy, pride, neurosis, grief, depression, anxiety, fear, euphoria, misery, intolerance, disgust, uncertainty about life. This may lead to negativity about the aspects of life.
