Abstract
Having a foreign body in your throat can be scary. Feeling of having such a foreign body or a lump in your throat can make you uncomfortable all the time. Introduction
Globus Pharyngis is a non-painful sensation of a lump or foreign body in the throat. Although it is a non-painful condition but could be uncomfortable. This condition is long-lasting and once treated tends to re-occur. A person may feel like there is a throat blockage due to a lump. The person always indulges in cleaning the throat which can make his voice hoarse and symptoms can worsen at the time of stress. Due to uncertain causative factors of Globus Pharyngis, it is difficult to make treatment strategies. It supports the respiratory system and prevents frequent respiratory and throat infections. It also relieves symptoms of cough and cold and throat itching. Dosage – Have ½ teaspoon twice daily.
4. Avipattikar Churna
This classical formulation is made with a combination of herbs like – Baheda (Terminalia bellirica), Peepal (Ficus religiosa), Amla (Emblica officinalis), Vidanga (Embelia ribes), Tejpatta (Laurus nobilis), Green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum), Nisoth (Operculina turpethum), etc. This herbal mixture is mostly used to balance Pitta dosha in the body. It has purgative properties and improves digestion. It acts as a strong antacid so is used in problems like hyperacidity, gastritis, and burning sensation in the upper GIT. Consuming a good quantity of this churna can ease symptoms of globus pharyngis.
