INTRODUCTION
Leptomeningeal enhancement is considered as the enhancement of pia mater which extends deep into subarachnoid spaces (of sulci and cisterns). This type of enhancement is generally associated with meningitis that can be viral, bacterial or fungal. The chief mechanism in this enhancement is malfunctioning of blood brain barrier except angiogenesis. The glycoproteins that are released from the bacterias lead to malfunctioning of the blood brain barrier which also allows the fluid to leak into CSF. This will lead to various symptoms related to the nervous system. Let us discuss the causes and symptoms in detail.
