Ayurvedic Aspect For Cervical Spondylosis
In Ayurveda, all the degenerative conditions come under Vata disorders. Acharya Charak, Acharya Sushruta and Acharya Vagbhata describe the different diseases like Manyastambha, Greevagraha and Vishwachi that have the similar symptoms to cervical spondylosis. These all diseases come under the vata disorders. According to our Acharya’s this disease is caused by intake of rough, cold and little food, doing excessive coitis, doing inappropriate movements such as leaping, jumping, etc, excessive emaciation due to anxiety, grief and illness, etc and suppression of natural urges and indigestion will lead to vitiation of vata dosha. Due to these causative factors this vata dosha gets vitiated and accumulates in greeva pradesh and results in the symptoms like pain in the neck, stiffness in the neck, nausea, pain in neck that radiates to arms, headache, and vertigo.
