1. Turmeric
Turmeric contains a chemical compound called as curcumin that has anti-inflammatory as well as anti-oxidant action. It reduces the joint pain as well as inflammation and fights against oxidative stress that leads to the degeneration of joint.
Steps to follow
- Add a teaspoon of turmeric to a glass of boiled milk.
- Mix it well and consume it daily.
2. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil acts as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory that helps in reducing the inflammation and pain which is associated with the knee joint and provides relief to the patient.
Steps to follow
- Take virgin coconut oil and apply this on the affected area.
- Let it dry on its own and rinse it off after 30 minutes.
3. Vitamins
Foods that are rich in Vitamin C and D are very useful in chronic knee joint pain. Vitamin C is necessary because it produces an important protein called as collagen which is necessary for knee tendons.
Vitamin D is an important nutrient that is very necessary for enhancing bone health.
These vitamins can help in providing relief and also helps in preventing the recurrence of knee pain.

4. Fenugreek seeds

- Take olive oil in palms and massage it on the affected knee.

7. Dandelion Leaves

- Boil some dandelion leaves in a saucepan.

- Add a cup of Epsom salt to a tub filled with water and soak the affected area for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Do it once daily.
9. Ginger
Ginger contains various compounds that are beneficial to health includes gingerols, caffeic acid, curcumin, and beta-carotene. These compounds have an anti-inflammatory action that reduces the inflammation and antioxidant action that inhibits the oxidation (production of free radicals).
Steps to follow
- Add fresh ginger in a cup of boiling water and simmer it for 5 minutes.
- Strain it and allow it to cool.
- Dip a clean gauge in this solution and place it on the affected knee.
- Wrap it around the knee.

- Make ginger tea and consume it daily.
10. Mustard Oil

- Take mustard oil in palms and massage it directly onto the affected knee.
- Do this 3 to 4 times daily.
11. Cinnamon
Cinnamon contains cinnamic acid and cinnamaldehyde. These both have antioxidant properties that help in inhibiting cell damage caused by the free radicals and provide relief to the patient.
Steps to follow
- Mix a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a glass of boiled water.
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey and mix it.
- Drink this regularly for about two weeks.
